Fun, Little Photoshoot

Shortly after our family photo shoot, a friend of a friend asked if she could borrow the kiddos to practice her photography...of course I had to say yes! Adelaide had a blast dancing and singing and if you check out Ashley's blog you can read about the shoot from her perspective (since I wasn't around the whole time), it actually brought tears to my eyes! Emery had just woken up, so he wasn't quite as interested as performing as his sister, but she still got some stinking, cute shots!

Family Picture Time

A couple months ago we had the blessing of a good friend of ours take our family pictures. It'd been over a year since we had any sort of photos done and I wanted some before I got ginormously pregnant...she really did a great job and I'm so thankful for her capturing such a fun stage in our lives! Here are some of my favorites:

Poll, Pretty Please

We're pretty set on the name Lucia Grace for the little bambino I'm carrying...Lucia meaning Light and Grace...well, that's pretty self explanatory. For curiosity's sake, I wanted to take a quick poll and see how you'd pronounce Lucia. My favorite is Loo-see-ah...

((since I'm lazy and don't want to try to figure out how to post a legit poll, you'll just have to answer in the comments))

Big Surprise

Can you hear the sarcasm just dripping from the title? It's no surprise it's taken me this long to do a second blog post, better now than later though, right? Anyway, I've got a good excuse. 1. I've got two toddlers. 2. I'm 32 weeks pregnant. 3. I could not remember how to sign into this blog of mine! Anyway. On with the post.

Kids Clothes Week Challenge came and went and I sewed way more than an hour every day (except Saturday but I made up for it on Sunday!). My real goal was to sew at least one item for each kid. Adelaide got 3 and Emery and Lucy each got 1.5. Here are a few things I completed that week:

(a pair of pants for Emery and a tunic for Adelaide, first pockets and first buttonholes)
(on a day when my sciatica hurt too badly to sit at the sewing machine, I worked on Lucia's baby blanket instead)
(A newborn kimono shirt for baby Lucia)
(in the middle of a pleated, chevron skirt for Adelaide)
(another tunic top for Adelaide, might be my favorite yet!)

I had lots of fun, but got quite burnt out at the sewing machine so I took the week after off...I've still got a list of things to make for the kiddos before the baby comes, including Christmas stockings, baby blankets, more dresses for Adelaide, and tops and pants for Emery...whew. I should probably start gathering and washing baby stuff since I'm under 2 months til she arrives, but, whatever, I've got almost 2 months right??

Here We Go Again

Well, I'm finally back in the blogging world. And just in time too! Next week I'll be hooking up with the KCWC (Kids Clothing Week Challenge, more on that here) and to keep me motivated and stick with the challenge I felt like it was time to join the blogging world once again. Not to mention, I NEED another place to plaster pictures of the kids as well as a distraction while I endure enjoy the last couple months of this pregnancy. So, thanks to some great clearance finds, I've stocked up on some sweet, new fabric and have several ideas in mind of things to sew to add to Adelaide's and Emery's fall/winter wardrobes. As long as my sciatica cooperates, it should be fun!
